Chamberlain or COTC?

U.S.A. Ohio

I'm trying to decide on ADN programs at each and wondered if anyone had any experiences with either. Any info would be appreciated!

why not cscc? I am there now and I love their program! I have heard that chamblerlain is $$$. So, I would know to compare the 2. But, cscc is a thought, too!

Well of course I've thought about them too...but isn't there waitlist ridiculous? That's why I don't have it on my list...I've been taking all my pre-reqs there and I love it!

im in the chamberlain program. overall its pretty great. not many complaints. yes, it is expensive, but to me not dealing with the waitlist crap is worth it. pm me if you have any questions.

It was my understanding that if you go to Chamberlain and later want to go beyond the degree you earned there, your credits won't transfer. Unless I flipped that with Bohecker.

I first applied at CSCC in Jan 2007 and was put on the wait list. I re-applied Jan 2008 and I start Fall 2008. While I was on the wait list I completed all the non nursing classes so now I only have to take nursing classes.

yeah. chamberlain creadit transfer. its accreated. idk why you thought they wouldn't.

I am @ COTC which I was dead set against. However, I am starting my 4TH quarter, where I was waitlisted at CSCC and would just be starting my 1st quarter. COTC has been great, half the class lives in Columbus, some of us even carpool! We even have some clinicals in Columbus.

I see that quite sometime has passed. What did you decide. I'm dealing with the same decision right now.

Thanks!

has anyone applied for the crna program with a chamberlain bsn?

I originally planned to go to OSU but was really frustrated with the wait-list. I chose COTC because they are a "competitive program" rather than a "wait-list program." In many nursing schools the students who are accepted into the program wait their turn, so to speak until there is a spot for them in the program. However, at COTC every quarter they select the students they feel are the best. I decided I couldn't wait 2+ years to start my life so I decided I'd rather gamble on myself, that I could be chosen in a competitive program.

Both schools I considered had a really strong nursing reputation which was important to me because need to be able to find a good job when I finish. I'm a mom and while that poor college lifestyle was fun once, it doesn't work as well when I need to provide food and shelter.

I really love COTC, the classes are hard but the instructors are great. You have clinicals from the beginning so you really know what you are learning and will have a lot of experience. I've learned so much. I'd never imagine how much information I could learn so quickly, but the way it's taught really flows. Let me tell you if you don't pass the first quarter, you are kicked out of the program, and although they let you reapply, it's hard to get accepted twice. However, seeing as it's competitive in the first place, I can't imagine how that would even happen.
