  1. Pumpkin - speaking from personal experience, I really like Columbus. There are very many areas that are neat to live in within the city (Victorian Village, Short North, Clintonville, etc) but I recently moved to a suburb to be closer to work and love it too. It never seems to be a problem to get around, the highways are well connected (in my opinion) and it's never more than a 20 minute drive somewhere (not during rush hour). There's lots to do and many great places to eat. I hope that helps!
  2. I just wanted to note that while I suggested other schools, I took all my pre-reqs at CSCC and had GREAT experiences with all of them! (especially anatomy!) I can completely understand why doing a fulltime program isn't for you. Best of luck with everything!!!
  3. I"m not sure if it's still true but CSCC used to have a loooong waitlist for nursing school. Since you already have your BA you could go to Capital or Mount Carmel accelerated and be done in a year (or little longer with Capital). I would definitely keep your options open and apply to as many schools as you can!
  4. I guess it depends on where you plan on moving or if you are just going to go to where the school is. I think all the big cities (Cincy, Columbus, Cleveland) all have a selection of great schools depending on which degree you are looking to get. I live in Columbus and there is a large handful of schools here ranging from LPN to Masters. Something to consider in your search!
  5. Have you contacted COTC for a transfer sheet? I imagine they would have one. It's hard to tell with different levels of chemistry and such how they would match up.
  6. Well of course I've thought about them too...but isn't there waitlist ridiculous? That's why I don't have it on my list...I've been taking all my pre-reqs there and I love it!
  7. No one?!
  8. I'm trying to decide on ADN programs at each and wondered if anyone had any experiences with either. Any info would be appreciated!
  9. Hi everyone! I posted this on the general thread but haven't gotten much of a response so I thoughtI would try the locals. I'm new to this site and am hoping to use it as a resource as I head back to school for nursing. I've already gotten my BS in another field (useless) and was not happy so I am heading back to do what I wanted to do the first time - nursing! The reason I didn't the first time was because I had a lot of fears and I am wondering if anyone else was in my boat. I'm scared of needles (though I worked in a pharmacy and got to use them in the IV room and desensitized myself to them) and some of the usual "medical fears" but it's my hope that instructors help you work through your fears. Does anyone have any experience or advice with this? Thanks for your help!
