No, Nurc 101 is hands on. You will learn a grouping of skills and then go for 16 hours to a nursing home. Nurc 102 is mostly sterile technique. It is all in lab, no clinical.

NURC 101 is the standard STNA class, just offered by CSCC. It is VERY BASIC. The academic book-work piece is very straight forward, if you've been paying any attention at all you know a lot of it already. At the end of it, you will take the state certification test, which consists of a written portion and a skills portion. Don't stress about this class. NURC 102 is much more difficult.

You need a penlight with pupil gauge, hemostats (straight), and bandage scissors. You should buy the scrubs there...good prices and they will sew the seal on your tops. A BUNCH of books. Some of the more general ones that will probalby be useful are: Taber's medical dictionary, 21st ed. Carpenito-Moy's Handbook of Nursing Diagnosis

I have no idea what my NET score was. Sorry! My GPA must have been in the 3.8 range at the time...my last academic coursework GPA that transferred was a 4.0. I have anatomy this quarter, so kiss that 3.8 goodbye. Another student I took Nurc 102 with Summer 09 is also in this Sp 10 start class for online. I don't know about anybody else.

Hey! Glad to find a recent thread on this. :) I was told that the online program does not retain a wait list. I start with the Spring 2010 online class. :) Super excited!!!!!

Does anybody know what classes line up between CSCC and COTC? I'm trying to take all of the stuff I can online at CSCC, and do the actual nursing classes at COTC. Right now I can't figure out what the following COTC course numbers correlate to CSCC classes: CHEM 1710 CHEM 1713 MATH 1210 BIO 1774/1775 BIO 1770/1771 If anybody knows where I can check what CSCC classes match up, I'd be so appreciative!!!! It seems like these types of things should be posted somewhere, you know? Thanks!
