U.S.A. Ohio

I am going tomorrow to take the TEAS test. does anyone have any information about the program? I am a little weary because it seems like they have a pretty new program and it's very expensive! I am just looking for any advice. What's appealing to me is NO WAIT!!! I could graduate in Dec. 2009 as opposed to STARTING a program then!!!...any advice???

I was in the same situation - I finished my support courses and was looking at waiting at least a year to start a nursing program (I looked at every school in and around Cleveland). I was all signed up and ready to start at Bryant & Stratton, but I just wasn't comfortable spending that much money and I was really worried that the program was not accredited - accepted by the state BON, but credits might not transfer if/when I decided to get a BSN or MSN.

I was working at a hospital and a co-worker had finished her last semester at BS - but had failed her ATI - she was scheduled to retake the test in a couple of months, but if she failed, then she had to repeat some coursework. I didn't like what I was hearing from her and I decided to defer my start at BS for one semester - luckily, I did get accepted at my local community college.

Sorry this is so long - I guess my advice to you would be to really consider the trade-offs of going to BS or waiting for another program. In the mean time, apply to every program around - you never know when you might get in somewhere else. Best of luck!

If you are able, check out Tri-c, there is no waiting period right now, if you have your prereqs done, they are placing Fall 08! No wait list, I applied and was accepted. Its much cheaper than Bryant & Stratton, and your credits will transfer if you decide to go on.

Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know how I feel about Bryant & Stratton's RN program. I am a current 3rd semester student and I feel that the program is wonderful. We did just become nationally accredited. The staff worked extremly hard to get us approved. The class sizes are small, and I feel that the teachers really care about our success. Don't get me wrong, this program is very challenging. It is a 20 month RN program, so don't think that your gonna skate through. Dedication is required. We have lost some people in our group, but it was not different from any other program. Most nursing programs will allow you to repeat only one core course, no exceptions. The people that I know who haven't made it have failed a science course or a nursing class. The program is expensive, but a 20 month RN program is hard to find, especially one without a waiting list. Another good point about Bryant & Stratton is that you do not need pre-reqs. You can take them all together. I work for UH and my supervisor is very impressed w/ our graduates. We were just informed that now that we are nationally accredited all of our classes will transfer. Even Case Western Reserve will accept them now. I am very satisfied. Most of the negative comments are from people who havnt done their research or whom havn't had success in this program. We are all adults, and an RN degree will not just be handed to you. 20 months of complete dedication is more than worth it in the long run.

Hi! I know this is an old post, but wondering if you are done with program and if you still like it. Do you work at UH now as an RN? Just wondering, I have been taking all of my support courses waiting for a spot at LCCC, but am strongly condidering B&S or Chamberlain so I can start this summer. I would appreciate your input! Thanks!

Just want to let everyone know some things about the program. I went to Bryant and Stratton for nursing school and graduated Aug. 2008, I was a hard program but is definitely able to do, you just have to work hard, I have many friends who went to other nursing schools in the area too, all nursing programs are hard! Bryant and Stratton is a great school and so is the program. As goes with everything in life, there is the good and the bad. Also Bryant and Stratton is accredited by the Ohio Board of Nursing AND Nationally Accredited, all you have to go it go to the websites and they will prove that. I have been working for 6 months at the Cleveland Clinic and I love it, all it takes is hard work!

Does B&S have an evening/weekend RN or even LPN program?

No they just have an RN program, and it is all daytime:( Some of their reps will tell you that you can take night/weekend classes, but they are only the core classes at around $2,000 each!! The same classes you could take at a community college for about $140 each while you are waiting to get in to the RN program.

Hey, I was wondering if i could give you a piece of advice on going to Bryant and Stratton in Parma: Don't.

I was in the program myself for three semesters, and the only way to describe my experience is 'Horrible.' The adminsitration heads at the school are rarely in the school or available to answer questions- and trust me, there will be many you have- and if you are so lucky to track one of them down, you'll usually find that the answers are different depending on who you ask. The classes are taught terribly. With the exception of the A&P courses in the first two semesters, every other class is taught in such a way where the a great majority of the class failed. I spoke to a fifth semester student who told me she was transferring after enduring nearly 20 months of this audacity, and she informed me that out of her original class of 120, only 5 went on to take the TEAS. I am at a loss to explain why the tuition runs so high, when the failure rate is so alarming. The truth is, the representatives will tell you lots of pretty things to get you in the program, and once you are in and they have you in a $25,000 hole, you're very hung out to dry on your own.

I agree with the last post. Having completed the program, I can say first hand how horrible it was. Rarely are questions answered about administration, most staff are two faced in how they deal with students and extremely prepared students failed out of the program. Save yourself a ton of money and get on a waitlist elsewhere- this place is the definition of a "for profit" college.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I just spent almost 2 years here, and got let go because of academic problems. They have a teacher who was fired from another college for her teaching, and i failed two of her classes which means i am out ( i was passing the classes, until the standardized computer test was taken, which is a test they give you a 600 page book on, on top of your class book, and it has 65 questions)

Just go to bryantstrattonscrewedme.com. You will see what i mean. It will be a waste of your money and time. A few make it through, right now there are 9 left in their final semester.

Just go to Tri-C. No school is worth THAT much $$ when you can go to Tri-C for a fraction of the cost and the program is much more established.
