Student Uniforms - What are yours like?

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

So, I've just ordered my uniform for the coming fall. I will be starting my first semester of nursing school! I am so excited. I am anxious to see what the uniforms are like in person. We had to order ours from Flagstaff uniforms. Anyone else get theirs from this company? They are the nursing uniforms and we had to order them in white with our school patches sewn on the sides. The scrub top zips up which I think will be very convenient. I don't know who thought of the white uniforms though. I think that is the dumbest thing ever.

What are your student uniforms like and what color?

White from head to toe. By the time the program was over everyone's scrubs were grey. I can forgive the white shirt but a bunch of girls in white pants is just rediculous. Any other colour would have been great.

Ours are White ScrubZone Scrubs. WHITE w/ the school patch on upper left arm. Mine is so dirty already :/

We wear white bottoms and a "BUTTERCUP" yellow top. We look like little ducks...following our leader Duck around. I look HORRID in yellow and feel ridiculous. I belong to a community college RN school. In the same city is a State University and THEIR scrubs are a nice hunter green top. They look so much more professional than we do. Sigh.

Besides wearing BUTTERCUP yellow to clinical, I also have one other class that require a 'uniform' of one sort or another. My Pathogenic Microbiology lab requires sneakers and labcoats that DO NOT LEAVE the lab (I guess: S. Aureus, which is about the most dangerous pathogen I've run across so far, is really going to wreak havok in the cold Upstate NY that I live.....) My nursing clinical requires all white sneakers or nursing shoes (just can't quite bring myself to buy those yet.... all the ones I have seen are Hideous....) and we are not allowed to wear them outside Clinical. In fact, it's highly recommended that we wear other shoes to the clinical site and change INTO clinical shoes in the parking lot.

I just got into an ADN program and their clinical uniform required list is a page long. We have to wear white Landau button up (or the professional jacket for us guys) tops and white pants (or knee length skirt for the girls) with white shoes (must be leather and or leather look alike). We can get a white lab coat - mid thigh length. We have to have maroon stitching applied to the sleeves and our logo stitched to the front left pocket. We have to have a watch with a left hand. On lab days, we have to wear khaki pants, our white clinical shoes, and a maroon shirt that says Pearl River ADN Program. It's pretty strict, but no complaints here.
