Nursing Shoes

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Hello everyone! I need some advice on nursing shoes for my clinicals! What is the most comfortable shoe you have found so far?

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

For clinicals I wore Crocs Specialist shoes (they don't have any holes in them!) - very comfortable. Then I switched to Danskos. They take awhile to get used to but I love them!

Asked a bunch of the nurses i know and they all recommended the Sketchers Shape-Ups so that's what I got. They are really comfortable. Not exactly cute so I wear my pants a little long and you don't even notice them.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Rehab.

I love my Dansko clogs! I have two pairs and I've worn the treads off my black pair because I wear them constantly (even when not working). They aren't for everyone because the sole is very hard and can fit some people weird. But they work for me.

Specializes in ICU, L&D.

I have the Timberland Renovas, MBTs, and some high priced New Balance. It definitely pays to splurge on good shoes.

I would also recommend dansko clogs! :) They might take a while to break into, but I have loved them since.

Specializes in Renal, Tele, Med-Surg, LTC, MDS.

I have flat feet and chronic back/leg pain. On someone's recommendation I bought a pair of Alegria shoes and omg I could not believe the difference they made! Kinda clunky looking but they have made a world of difference for me!

I am a nursing student and for 2 quarters I have been wearing Danskos. They are killing me! They feel ok while I am wearing them. Sounds weird, but it is the next day when my feet can feel that hard arch and hurt somehow when I am not even wearing them!! Its kind of hard to explain!

So today I ordered Alegrias. I really hope they feel as good as when I tried them on....I am so tired of spending $100 + for something that doesn't work out.

I have a pair of Alegria Feliz, and they are as comfortable hours later as they are when I put them on. Hopefully you'll have the same luck!

I sure hope so!! I got the Paloma style because I must have closed back and all white. I'll let you know....

I wore sneakers for clinicals and never found a good pair. When i started my job I got Landau brand slip one that were pretty good. Nice and squooshy but made my feet sweat like crazy! About a month ago I bought a pair of Alegria Mary Jane style shoes. Lover them so much I just bought another pair. The insoles are fantastic! I can't imagine wearing anything else fir those long shifts now.

The Mary Jane style is the one I just ordered. That is so great to hear!! Can't wait to try them. For all those who wear these, do they require a breaking in period like Dansko?

There's a slight breaking in period, where the insole conforms to your foot but they were comfy the entire first shift I wore them. I have 6 pts on an icu stepdown so I run miles every night I work. These shoes are fabulous! Like the Danskos, they need to be a little loose in the heel.
