My CROCS made me fall tonight..

Ok. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience. Walking along in your Crocs and you suddenly hit the front of your shoe against the floor causing you to trip.

It appears to me that the material Crocs are made from are AbSoLuteLy skid proof to a fault! They don't skid, they Stop you in your tracks.

Now this evening while I was taking a chart to the Unit clerk with orders, my foot suddenly stopped and I fell straight to the floor. I laid there for a min then laughed with embarrassment..but then staff came to me to help me up. My Crocs did it!

Its been a problem for awhile now and I'm finally taking the time to post here about it. I even thought about doing a hospital wide survey to see if others have the same problem. One of the Techs with me tonight said she has the very same problem...

SO. Do your Crocs make you trip???:uhoh3:

I did the croc stop every time I wore the darn things, and while they certainly were not uncomfortable, I did not find them to be the saving grace so many here have raved about. I'm pretty sure I had the actual croc brand, so I wonder what I'm missing?? That little flare on the pinkie toe would catch on the floor, and I'd be airborne, again.

Occasionally when I am very tired my Danskos will let me tip over to the side a bit, but so far have only fallen once, and that was due to stepping on the stick my German Shepherd left for me on the porch late one night. It was, thankfully, witnessed only by my precious dog, who would never tell anyone.

I don't recall anyone saying it wasn't OK not to wear Crocs. Wear whatever is comfortable for your feet and conforms to your hospital uniform policy. No big deal.

It was said in fun . . . ..everyone is saying they trip but still love their Crocs and I thought it was funny . . .

No offense.

Yes, I have fallen in Crocs multiple times. I rarely wear them anymore unless I am doing dirty work in the garden.

Echoing this post, I've tripped over my own feet in every kind of shoe I've ever owned.

My conclusion is that it's not the shoes - at least in my case.
