Keep your pants on...

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Is there some secret, I have not figured out yet, to keeping scrub pants from falling down? Some days I have to walk like I just got off a horse until I can privately retie my draw string - for the millionth time. They just keep getting loose. It drives me crazy. I wear Dickie's ultra stretch. They are soooo comfy, but they didn't solve this eternal question for me. It happens with ALL my scrub pants, except the one pair I had to rent during clinicals for the OR. Those. were. awesome. But, they don't sell them. Grrrr.

Thanks. I will try to do that Ruby. For now, financially, I am stuck with these. Can't afford a new pair yet. They have elastic in the back too. I bought them because I hate when I bend or squat and get plumbers butt because of the scoop. SO annoying, but these don't do that. I think I should have gotten one size smaller, but I like my pants to fit loosely. I will look for the other brands in the store next time too. A lot of them were junior cut and drove this womanly to fury. LOL!

You know when you learned to tie your shoes, you crossed the ties over each other and tightened them, then you made the loops? Skip the step of crossing the ties over each other -- just make the loops and then take the loops and loop them again. (Gee, I hope that made sense!) It keeps my scrub pants drawstring tight longer than anything else I've tried, although when I pack the pockets full of stuff I still have difficulty sometimes.

Woot! This held up my pants much longer. I only had to adjust when I actually had to go to the bathroom. Thanks.

I'm going to try try that double loop thing too. Like what we used to call a double tie, i assume?

I discovered Beverly Hills scrubs at a uniform shop recently. The fit is great and they don't seem to slip quite as much. They also run a little long, which I need b/c I'm 5'8 so I'm right between "regular" and "tall".

Aviators aren't sold in stores, at least none I've ever seen. Jockey were sold in our local surplus store but not in the color I needed for nursing but they sold in pct/paramedic colors. However, those pants really do stay up. I just wore my new color that I had to order online and I had no issues with slippage.

I know scrubs at www.banyantreescrubs.com have a two inch wide band all the way around the waist, a tie in the front and elastic in the back. Helps keep the pants against the waist better. Also made out of bamboo, cotton and Lycra, real comfortable.

Cherokee flexibles have a wide cloth covered elastic waistband similar to yoga pants. They stay up well!

That's good to know, but the bamboo blended fabric feels better to me.
