Revamping my resume, need quick advice!!!

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hello all!

I've gone almost 2 months with no interview so I think it's time for a resume update! I had a ton of hands on experiences during nursing school Vent/Trach care, wound vacs, EKG interpretation, maintained central, picc, and peripheral lines, folley catheter placement, blood administration, c-sections, and extensive OR exposure ( open heart surgeries, cardiac cath, LVAD procedure and more) should I include these things in my resume?

and should I include my high school education? I graduated top 10% of my class and 3 honor societies. Or leave it out because its assumed?

Thanks and any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Leave the high school stuff out. Highlight your strengths. If you have a lot of space, I would list where and when you did your clinical, and how many hours.

The hands on experiences that you had in nursing school (vent/trach care, wound vacs, etc.) are things that all nursing school graduates have done. And as far as the "extensive OR exposure" is concerned, those are all surgeries that you watched, right? I would leave that out.

I would work on a very solid cover letter, brush up on your interview skills, and get out & network.

Thanks all! After looking at m resume done the way I posted it looked stupid. Thanks for the advice:)
