Here is the cost of attendance as set out by UIPR (produced Jan 2009) :

This is for a student living on their own (not w/ their family)

    TUITION $ 3,696.00
    FEES $ 1,262.00
    BOOKS $ 894.00
    FOURTH $ 4,761.00
    FOOD $ 4,500.00
    TRANSPORTATION $ 1,800.00
    PERSONAL EXPENSES $ 3,878.00
    TOTAL BUDGET $ 20,791.00

This is simply what is put out by the university so your tuition could be higher if you take more credits. Any thoughts from folks? Does your budget match up w/ the above, or how is it different? I was personally thinking the food budget was a little high, but I've never been to Puerto Rico...."

He is current student. As for the program, it takes about 2 years if you have a bachelors (in any degree) and about 3 years if you dont have a degree.

The previous poster is not asking about the Inter, Don't get confused kevano51 that budget is for the Inter. I will say that they are going to end up costing you about the same. The only way to know how long it will take you at UMET is to ask the director by having your transcripts evaluated, and good luck with that lol.

@Kevano51: Oops! sorry! I thought you were talking about Inter! Yeah, Belle is right, that information I provided you was for Inter not for UMET.

    Sorry I cant help ya

Ok, thanks! Im just thinking that UMET might sound better on a resume...any former students out there in the workplace care to chime in here??

I don't think that UMET would sound any better on a resume. My best friend works at an eyeglass place in Orlando, and there were probably 4 ophthalmologists working there that went to La Inter. I know those are doctors, but if the school has a good reputations for doctors it must be the same for nurses.

If the school was crappy it probably wouldn't have gotten continuing accreditation for the BSN and initial accreditation for the ADN. I personally love my school. Even though it may be frustrating at times, that's just Puerto Rico for you. Inter all the way baby

I agree with designer-mommy, it may be disorganized and cause unnecessary stress but it obviously is doing something right.

Hi do you have any info about the ADN program? How long would it take if I already have all my generals done? And would u by chance know any info about the "dormitory" for all girls?

Hi designer mom. I currently live in Orlando Florida. I got accepted to Inter. I will be starting on August 1, 2011. I saw that you lived in Florida as well. In prior threds, I read that becoming a RN from Inter to Florida might be a little difficult. How are you and anyone else from Florida is going by this??

If you have all of your generals done you can be in the accelerated program. You can do the ADN in about 11 months. Awesome, right?! You start in the beginning of August and finish up at the end of June. I'm sooooo jealous of my classmates who are getting their ADNs at the end of this month!!! I have at least 4 1/2 months, but it will probably be more like 8 though

I don't know anything about the girls dorms. I live in a house in Gurabo, about 35 minutes from the school. I love my town!!!

I've heard that there are quite a few hoops to jump through in FL. I think they said something about an English test since they consider this an international school at the FL BON. I highly doubt that I'm going back to FL though, so I haven't gotten many details about it. Sorry! If I hear anything I'll let you know
