University of Phoenix RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Updated:   Published

I am so excited and nervous to start the RN-BSN program at this school !!

I know a few nurses who became clinical nurse educators or administrators who completed a masters degree in this school. But do not know anyone who completed a BSN here.

I was at a previous university that was kind of difficult for me because of the timed tests.

after speaking with the admissions counselor for hours asking 1000's questions I decided to enroll at UOP.

So far I have read great things about it. I am doing online only. Took the workshop and it seems like a lot of work but doable & not as stressful as 20questions in 15min quizzes like I was at a previous school.

Anyways, I am taking this as a second chance to get my BSN!

I looked in to those schools you mentioned. Grand Canyon the expense turned me off. JU -- those proctor exams?

5 week classes but it's only one class at a time & no tests. I'm in my second class at UOP and I love it. It's a lot of writing and team assignment.

after BSN I want to do an MBA and do something with finance in health care. I like UOP so convenient than a local university

brenda1234, I am really glad you love UOP. Like I said in another post, my co worker loved it as well. What turned me away from JU was the enrollment counselor. She was forgetful that she had called me on same day, doubling calls, and she sounded like a machine. It never felt personal. Between UOP and GCU, they have a lot of similarities but UOP was more expensive and did not include the books.. but they were very friendly as well and liked the 5 week classes. At least we are moving forward and I am sure we will both be successful in our studies.. And if you want to talk about any subjects, please message me and we can bounce ideas off each other! :bookworm:

For me UOP includes books in tuition. Right now I am using 2 books and they are only a click away.

Specializes in Pediatrics, Med-Surg, Infectious Disease.

I completed BSN from UofP April 2008. It is very doable with a full time job. Lots of reading and writing papers, no tests. Good luck!

I agree. It is time consuming that you do have to write and do research. But it is doable.

i am almost done with my second class and I couldn't be happier. Plus after 24 credits I get 2600 taken off my amount I have to pay back!!

I'm gonna have my baby soon so I will be a stay at home mommy for a few months. So UOP is working for me!!

I am talking to my hubby to see if I can be a full time house wife.

i think with 2 little ones at home he will go into the idea :-)

then i I can just be a student & when kids are bigger I can go back to work as a nurse!!

Specializes in Rehab, Hospital, Travel Nurse, VNA,.

Brenda, did you make it?

I just finished my RN-BSN with UOP

Has anyone had experience with Ashworth College, RN to BSN flex program? Pros & cons.

I'm currently looking into UOP RN to BSN program. My long term goal is to get accepted into a Psych Nurse Practioner program. I just don't know if the higher education schools accept it.

Specializes in NICU.

Just do your research, the UOP is demanding, time consuming, not 100%online,not all books online either.Great program for BSN,good counselor contact with students.Their internet system can time line everything that you do and happens.Your papers are graded against a algorithm for plagiarism, similarities to others etc.The Library is one of the best.

I've decided to go with UTA's online RN to BSN program. It's regionally accredited and is only $169/credit. I dropped UOP once for multiple reasons that where red flags to me....Why repeat an $expensive$ decision when I can save and put my money towards my long-term goal to become a Psych Nurse Practioner?
