  1. Hi, I just applied for the RN to BSN program to start in Oct 2018, but I attended in 2008 for Healthcare Administration. My long-term goal is to complete my BSN to goon to a Psych NP program. I've also had similar experiences with group projects of people not contributing, and as team lead I turned in the final papers without their names on it. I still consider myself a newbe, and hope to connect with others attending UoP.
  2. Hi, Watson101 I'm enrolling Oct 2018 at UOP for their RN to BSN program. I've attended UOP in 2008 but was going for Healthcare Administration. I'll be purchasing APA format software such as PERLA, so I can concentrate more on the content of my papers. I'd say the most frustrating thing was group projects because others didn't have the same motivation, but maybe it will be different since we all have RN degrees. So if you want the best grade possible, I'd suggest taken on team lead as much as possible. I've called Maryvile University, and Walden University to verify that they accepted UOP's BSN for Psych NP school (my long-term goal). UOP is regally accredited unlike Aspen, and offers a GPA unlike WGU, so I don't foresee any hurdles for higher education. As far as price, I was set to go in Dec 2018 for UTA, but got discouraged after getting the run around on the phone prior to starting. I guess the old saying is true, you get what you pay for. UTA is $169.00/credit, but I found their blackboards hard to navigate, and I've read never take their History or Statistics courses due to being unclear in instruction, and graded at a graduate level. UTA is also changing from a degree plan to a degree map which adds on more elective classes.
  3. Being able to sit at a Coffee bar, and not having to be stuck at home defiantly inspired me focus while studying in nursing school.
  4. I just left the ER after 17 yrs to go into Psych. I did it to scout for future hard to find preceptors for my long-term plan of going to an online school to becoming a Psych NP, and use reverse psychology on myself to ensure that I don't procrastinate and I'm reminded of my short-term goal to obtain my RN to BSN. My Psych experience so far has been that their IT is the worse when compared to my previous experience working in the ER, and there are too many Chiefs that micromanage to find ways to get out of truly helping a situation in an already disorganized hostile environment. Having a medical background I'm a rare commodity in Psych and seems to offer some false hope that if something medical happens I can handle it, but with no resources other than dialing 911. I guess I'll shine by pre-screening transfers in the intake Dept since we are not a medical facility, and I've been on the other side to medically clear Psych pts.
  5. I've decided to go with UTA's online RN to BSN program. It's regionally accredited and is only $169/credit. I dropped UOP once for multiple reasons that where red flags to me....Why repeat an $expensive$ decision when I can save and put my money towards my long-term goal to become a Psych Nurse Practioner?
  6. I just applied at UTA for Spring 2018 RN to BSN program. After 17 yrs of working in different ER's, I left the ER to pursue my long-term goal of becoming a Psych Nurse Practitioner. I jumped into something new to ensure I go back to school, and scout for preceptors needed for Psych NP school. So any advice is greatly appreciated...
  7. I'm currently looking into UOP RN to BSN program. My long term goal is to get accepted into a Psych Nurse Practioner program. I just don't know if the higher education schools accept it.
  8. What about UOP RN to BSN? It's regionally accredited...I'm only considering it because I have taken some classes there in the past, and it seems to be cheaper.
  9. I'm currently looking into RN to BSN online programs with a long term goal to be accepted into Psych NP program. So I'm trying to avoid any pitfalls of not being accepted into a NP program such as for not being regionally accredited, no GPA system, ect. In my encounters with talking to prospective schools, it's been like hitting a brick wall. First time poster here. Any advice welcomed.
