Nursing Students Online Learning

I am on a waiting list for the ADN program. Since they started a new statewide nursing cirriculum, some of the nursing theory courses are now offered online. To those of us within one year of starting the program, we can take fundamentals and pharmacology online. This could be nice since I could get them out of the way before starting clinicals. These classes are not offerd by my school, but other schools in the state. I have taken independant study courses but never online.

How hard is it? Is it user friendly? I can use a computer but wouldn't consider myself computer savvy.

I take it I'd have to send transcripts and apply to these different colleges also.

Do you think it was as good of a learning experinces as being in the classroom?

Thanks for your input!

I would definately try it if I were you. Get as many classes as you can out of the way.

If you know how to navigate the internet, then you'll be able to do online couses. You also might have to learn how to do a Word document, save it to your computer and send as an attachment.

I'm in my 40s and my first online class was pretty easy to me last year. Good luck.

My BS and MS were obtained via distance. I have been told by people wow your courses must have been easy. I read 98 books to get those degrees, took tests, did research papers, thesis-everything the same.

I can say I am a very driven person. Distance is good if your driven and self motivated. I don't need to be surrounded by other students so it was a perfect fit for me.
