Received EC Transcript Review

Nursing Students Online Learning

Well, they sent the review today... just as I thought, I need Eng 101, Info Lit, Life Span Psych, and Micro. Plus all the Nursing Component Courses. I just wanted to be sure they would accept my credits, as some of them are not too recent. I printed out the review, and just keep staring at it! :) The first line says 'Congratulations on your admission to the Excelsior College School of Nursing'.... wow....

Any other newbies that just received their transcript review? We should all definitely keep in touch. This board is amazing for all the helpful people and suggestions... I've been lurking here for a while, and keep trying to get motivated!

You know the old saying... 'How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time...' Wow, there's an elephant standing over my shoulder!! :uhoh3:

Barbara, I know it looks intimidating now, that long list of classes, but each time you see the number change to a 0 on your transcript it's pretty awesome and it motivates you to do more and more. I pretty much started with nothing and that was last November. I enrolled in January and finished the nursing courses in about four months. By this November, I will be graduating from EC. It is one bite at a time, but it will go by so much quicker than you think. Stay focused and clear on your goal and you will be there in no time.

Good luck on your studies! What's first??

I'm waiting on my review now....I sent in the last of my transcripts about 1.5 weeks ago. I passed Transitions last week with a C and I am scheduled to take Health Safety on July 7. I am hoping my review is done before then so I can focus on the nursing courses. I think they will accept all of my credits as all are pretty recent. I took the Micro ECE a few months back and passed with a B......but it was not what I was expecting. Good luck and don't get discouraged. You can do it.

I just got my review about a week and a half ago. I have 8 general ed credits to take and all the nursing exams minus health safety which I took last weekend and made a B on. Studying for Transitions now.

Plan on taking the EC practice exams......you get that warm and fuzzy feeling while you are testing on the real one:)

I have just a couple of the gen classes and my 8 nursing exams to tackle but I plan on taking the CLEP test for those. Good luck! I hope we all can keep each other motivated through this process. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.

I clepped many classes: Psych, HG&D, Sociology, A/I Lit. Also took a few DSSTs. I used Straighterline English 1 & 2, Algebra, Chem, Biology, Med Term, Communications, Stats.

Hi All,

Thanks so much for all the encouragement and motivation... I need it!

Beachnurse - that was really quick! You are really knocking out the exams! Congrats! As for what I'll do first.. I'm not sure yet. After looking over my choices, I may start with Human Growth Psych, CLEP, probably. I've looked through the first 2 Nursing exams I can take... possibly alternate the Gen Ed classes with those.

Nervous1 - Congrats on passing Transition and the EC Micro! And, for sure, I'll get the practice exams! :)

Ladynurse - We are close on requirements, except you are ahead of me by already taking Health Safety.. Congrats!

Scorpio - I am also excited and nervous! Still trying to let all this sink in. For sure, we should all stick together, and compare notes.

I'll probably coast for the next few days, then really kick it into high gear! You guys are awesome! :yeah:

I recommend getting your Info Lit out of the way with Penn Foster. I used them for mine, just make sure you get prior approval from an EC advisor. I spent $115 and did it in a few hours. It was an easy A. :-)

I did not CLEP HG&D, I took the Excelsior exam which was not too bad, but I used instacert.com to study for this one and got a B. I cancelled after the first month so I only paid $14.95, I found a coupon code online somewhere.

Good luck!

Oh, yes... the Info Lit... that would be an easy one to do first. I'll check out instacert.com. Thanks!
