Just finishing my BSN and thinking of getting the MSN in Informatics. Currenly, I'm looking for online school suggestions that are not horribly pricey, all online, and regionally accredited at a minimum. That leaves out Aspen, American Sentinel, etc. Any suggestions?

Thanks! Oh, yes, my last requirement, no site visits unless I can drive there from upstate NY. :)

Other than University of Memphis (and apparently Vanderbilt which does block formats), I don't believe any of those have required site visits. The lowest cost option is probably University of South Alabama which does have a great school of nursing. They are $465/credit hour. Nova is $600.00. Pitt is $1103, ETSU is $716. I erred on UNC, it is only a post-master's certificate, my bad.

Also South University (I did my BSN through there) is $436, though I'd still choose USA over South for the extra $30 a credit hour.

I spent a lot of time looking at these programs and ending up applying to Nova, but for the MS in Biomedical Informatics. I wanted a more technical program than the MSN offers. Best of luck in your education and career!

Nicuguy,

Have you started the program yet?

I'm doing mine through Excelsior College -- regionally and nationally accredited, all online. Tuition is $565/credit hour for grad-level classes (though I pay $250/credit hour as active duty military, which is really awesome, they're so military-friendly). It's been a great program so far. I have one class and my capstone remaining, but that's on hold for a bit until I get home from Afghanistan next year. I probably could have done the class, but my internet here isn't uber-reliable and the flow of traumas is hard to predict, so I didn't want to be stressing about class assignments when faced with situations beyond my control! :)
