How long have you been studying? I am also planning on testing in Dec!! I haven't seen anyone that has failed???? Curious to hear the response!
Hey jlrevis I think you responsed in another post I put on here on Micro. I think you and I have problably been studying the same length of time. I started studying Nov 1st. I study 6 days a week 2-3 hours a night except on Sundays I can study longer more like 5hours on Sundays.
I see people are viewing but not any responses. I'm curious to hear responses also but maybe this is a good sign, right?
I agree I haven't seen anyone that has failed this test. I was going to wait until I finished cpne but I am still waiting on a date and apparently it is not going to be until Feb, so I am going to go ahead and cram and take it in Dec and then restart my cpne studies! Let me know when you schedule your test date! Also, you can pm me and I will send you my email address! What are you using to study?

do you guys ever get on the epn on the excelsior site? that might be a place to look...i've found that it's not so great for study tips, but it's awesome for pats on the back. you might look on the general classes forum instead of the nursing classes forum...i think i got on there and peeked around anatomy for a bit. i haven't heard of anyone failing it myself, but i'm sure they're out there somewhere. i am saving this one for later. it scares me! good luck!!
Im studying Principles of Immun. What are you studying?

I will be continuing my studying for this exam starting the end of November. I want to test two to three weeks after that. I will be using Microbiology Demystified, Microbiology Made Incredibly Easy, EC practice exams along with the text for reference and the content guide. I would love any tips if you have. Keep me posted.

I studied for this test for 3 weeks and passed with a "C". Seriously, all I wanted was to pass. I studied the Lisa Arends notes and the Dymystified book. The test was hard. I guessed at 75% of the questions and still passed,

I just took this test in October and passed w/ an A.
I studied the Tortora book, just like the EC Study guide says. I rented the textbook. (Chegg.com).
Take your time. Its a bit tricky, but make sure you read the book and study the outline. Know your stuff (especially the organisms that cause disease). I found the test to be fair, but you really have to know your stuff to get through.
Take your time and don't panic! I also used Lisa Arends' microbiology disk. That helped a bit.
