Feel like I'm losing momentum

Nursing Students Online Learning

I was hoping to have all of my nursing exams done by now but I've been stuck in a rut lately and haven't felt like studying. So far I've done 4 exams and I have 4 more to go before the FCCA and CPNE but I can't bring myself to start reading again. I do everything but study. I'm losing momentum and really need some advice on how to get over this hump/slump I'm in. Thanks all.

Pay for the tests and the practice exams in advance, and then schedule the test. Money is so tight for me, so this is what I did, and that gave me a deadline. Even if you reschedule multiple times, once you pay you have a window of when you can test by and the practice exams disappear after a certain time too.

I would just schedule myself every other Tuesday, and if I felt really fired up I would add another test that month. I finished all my exams and most gen ed's in 5 months, all I have left are A&P and micro.

Keep that goal in sight. Sign your name and add an RN to the end. Thats motivating enough for me :-)

also, what you might want to do is look at the study guide and find a subject that you enjoy for example neuro then schedule ls3...you can do it.

Do a "search" on the current exam you are working on, find all the threads that state, "Passed!!" and read a few of them. The excitement from the poster passing the exam will give you a bit of a boost. As soon as you are done reading those posts, go straight to your content guide (get a cup of coffee if you need, but really--make a B-line for the books), and find where you left off--and jump back into your reading & note taking. Do the same thing the next day until you get your rhythm back. I think almost everyone of us has had a slump or 2 through this program. Mine, unfortunately lasted a year. Since December, I have not had one single day without studying. A week prior to the exam, I do NOTHING but review, review, review. I want this phase of my life over and I am finally getting there! The best thing to do when you are having a down moment is seize the moment right away! Good luck!!

Pay for a test today and schedule it for 2 weeks from now. Do this until you are done! You are in the home stretch....YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Just take the first step and pay for the test, you'll be back in the swing of things in no time. My graduation date is TOMORROW so I promise you it can be done! Good luck!

congratulations missingerica.... soooooooooo proud of you! can't wait to be in your shoes. hopefully by the end of the summer

I too went through the rut, but I decided that I wanted it to be done and I didnt want to pay for another year. Find something, anything that initially motivated you and focus on that and get restarted. Think of the positive outcome at the end and even if you dont WANT to, just dig in to the material!! Good luck and you can do it!!

Missy, you can do this! I started a little bit after you did and we seems to have similiar experiences. Don't give up now. You are 1/2 way there, so am I. I am scheduled for 3 exams at this very moment, sometimes I have to reschedule but that's ok. I have had some setback too. For example I had to do a major surgery 2 wks ago and was scheduled for Health Diff today but I don't feel that I am adequately prepared so I rescheduled for next week. You should test only when you feel ready. BUT the important thing here is to have a PLAN....that would be scheduling your exams. The thought of missing your exam and losing the $$$ should be enough to motivate you into studying! If this doesn't work, we live pretty close to each other. I have no problem in partnering with you to study 2-3x per week "in person". Let me know if that interests you. We can do this. My goal is to be done with the exams by end of June. I challenge you to make this commitment with me! Good Luck! You are doing great. Lets get these exams behind us and move forward to FCCA/CPNE.

Very normal...I too "hit the wall" this semester. This is the time to take stock of EVERYTHING you have sacrificed thus far...and PLOW on through! You can get through it.....

Thanks so much! I just got my temporary practice permit and it FINALLY seems real to me!! If you need help with anything let me know!

thank you... schedule to test for LS3 next week, any advice would be appreciated...
