Since Georgia isn't accepting Excelsior College, does this mean that they're aren't any CPNE's in Georgia? Where is the best place to take your CPNE?

I tested in Georgia just last month. I didn't have any trouble. I will work in SC.

Thank you, for your responses. I really do appreciate them. Ladymedik, where in GA did you test? I'm only beginning the program, but want to be finished by Oct. How did you do it? Please give me insight on the process of being successful.

I just emailed them last week and the lady at the SPAC said they were still in business and the wait was 7 - 9 months. They also said if you were a Georgia student they would be working with you to get you tested before they GBON nursing deadlines.

i tested at gwinnett in lawrenceville. i finished the theory exams in november and sent in the package at the end of nov. i gave the the standard 4 weeks to process the app. (it seems to take them 4-6 weeks to do everything!) i started calling the number for the spac in jan. got a cancellation date on jan 17 to test on feb 20. took the remaining month to read and re-read the study guide, memorize acronyms to help me remember all the critical elements, and spent a lot of time on the epn message board at excelsior's website. i bought rob's cpne dvd, and watched an old vhs tape of the lab sims. with all of that i got no surprises. i passed everything on the first try. was very nervous, but it was a matter of do-or-die for me. had to get it done. any questions, just ask. there are a bunch of us on this board also.

my only complaint about the system is the wait to graduate and to be able to take state boards. it will be almost 2 months after i finish before i graduate. i was in such a hurry to get everything done, now i'm sitting on my hands.

Are you able to test for boards before your initial graduation being that you have completed everything? Did you buy books directly from Excelsior for your exams? I am sooo excited and also nervous. I just don't want to put time and money into this program only to fail. How long did it take you to complete the program from start to finish?

I am still waiting for EC to process everything. My actual grad date is April 17th. It looks like it is going to be close to that date before I get to test. I have done my part, applied to the SCBON, paid Pearson their $200. Now waiting in EC. I did not buy the books from EC. I had a fundamentals and med-surg book from previous classes. I used them. I started in June of 2008. Finished in Feb. 2009. I basically just clepped all the tests.

That is really cool. I'm hoping that I can do the same. I want to be finished with all the test and the CPNE by Dec. 09. This will give me some time to grad and take nclex.
