Anyone applying for JU online RN to BSN?

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi,

I just applied for the RN to BSN online program for Jacksonville University March 2014. Is anyone else applying for the program? Does anyone have some recent input? I know JU is an excellent school, just wondering how everyone likes the online program. I am a new grad and don't have a job yet so I am a little worried about the end project. Hopefully I will be employed by then :)

I got accepted for March! What classes are you both in?

I'm going to be in NUR352SI in Mar!

Me too! Are you buying your books from the school or are you going to find them elsewhere? I just got the list yesterday so I have not decided yet.

Me, I'm going to buy the package deal with book/study guide/CD I think it might suite my needs. Also I think it will be a good idea to have the visual information on CD. Plus, if I come to the conclusion I shouldn't have bought any one of the components of the package deal then I will know not to buy that component for the next class. And I haven't found the book itself too much cheaper online anyways, also I like the reassurance that I'm buying from a vendor that will ship my books ASAP!! And I need them!!!

I couldn't find them any cheaper either. So I will order their package deal too. Thanks! Looking forward to starting!

I graduated from JU December 2012. I liked the program and I'm glad I did it online. The instructors were very understanding of how busy our schedules can be as nurses, but they also expect you to be organized and independent. I appreciated how they were often available for questions and involved with us on the forum. (I lived in Tallahassee, then moved to south Georgia while I was attending.) You write a lot of papers as you go further into the program but that's expected. The tricky thing was getting a preceptor for your clinical hours, but, they allowed me to do them at my job through my clinical director.

Btw, I suggest renting your books online! I have a website I recommend so just PM me since we can't post links on here.

OK, so all the materials came in the other day, I think I'm ready! I've heard a few comments from alumni of JU's RN-BSN saying that they started part time and finished full time in a year from start to finish. I think I will start of with two classes, I hope this will be manageable. Anyone else have feedback on starting full time?

I did part time and it was definitely manageable working full time, even switching jobs. I think you'll like the program but it can be challenging with papers. Just be sure you don't wait to do things last minute. The instructors are kind to send you a syllabus ahead of time if you ask.

If JU offered a MSN program for Adult-Gerontology I would have stayed - I'm very proud to be a JU alumni :)

The day is here, time to further the education!

Whew, this information management in healthcare course is dense with information, I truly hope there wont be too many overly challenging questions on the test. Hopefully these questions will pertain to her lecture and terminology. Anyone have any input on this?

Good luck to all of you! I am just a class behind you. I start in end of April.

You will love it, the JU program is so organized and the online environment is super easy to navigate through. Reflecting on my decision, I'm very happy I am attending JU!
