Hi,
I just applied for the RN to BSN online program for Jacksonville University March 2014. Is anyone else applying for the program? Does anyone have some recent input? I know JU is an excellent school, just wondering how everyone likes the online program. I am a new grad and don't have a job yet so I am a little worried about the end project. Hopefully I will be employed by then :)
Me, I'm going to buy the package deal with book/study guide/CD I think it might suite my needs. Also I think it will be a good idea to have the visual information on CD. Plus, if I come to the conclusion I shouldn't have bought any one of the components of the package deal then I will know not to buy that component for the next class. And I haven't found the book itself too much cheaper online anyways, also I like the reassurance that I'm buying from a vendor that will ship my books ASAP!! And I need them!!!
I graduated from JU December 2012. I liked the program and I'm glad I did it online. The instructors were very understanding of how busy our schedules can be as nurses, but they also expect you to be organized and independent. I appreciated how they were often available for questions and involved with us on the forum. (I lived in Tallahassee, then moved to south Georgia while I was attending.) You write a lot of papers as you go further into the program but that's expected. The tricky thing was getting a preceptor for your clinical hours, but, they allowed me to do them at my job through my clinical director.
Btw, I suggest renting your books online! I have a website I recommend so just PM me since we can't post links on here.
OK, so all the materials came in the other day, I think I'm ready! I've heard a few comments from alumni of JU's RN-BSN saying that they started part time and finished full time in a year from start to finish. I think I will start of with two classes, I hope this will be manageable. Anyone else have feedback on starting full time?
I did part time and it was definitely manageable working full time, even switching jobs. I think you'll like the program but it can be challenging with papers. Just be sure you don't wait to do things last minute. The instructors are kind to send you a syllabus ahead of time if you ask.
If JU offered a MSN program for Adult-Gerontology I would have stayed - I'm very proud to be a JU alumni :)

I got accepted for March! What classes are you both in?
