I got my ADN through EC and enjoyed it, except for the CPNE. I failed the first time. I understand there are 3 clinical components to the BSN? How do they compare to the CPNE as far as time spent studying? Stress? Test Sites? I'd love to get my BSN but not willing to subject myself to 3 more CPNE's. Thanks!

hello....don't have any information for you, but i'm wondering the same thing you are! just waiting for someone to come around with some information. i'm still in ec's adn program, finishing up a couple prereqs so i can get on the list for the cpne. hope to finish next fall, and then wanted to get right into a bsn program somewhere, but i don't feel like redoing the a&p and micro, since everyone wants them with lab and i took them through ec.
i thought i had a link somewhere that there was a bsn group on yahoo for ec students, maybe i can find it again and see if the group's active? that'd be a good source of info i guess...
but still hoping someone around here knows something about the bsn program!

I don't have much info but I have heard that one of the clinicals, the HAPE, can be replaced by an online course from Canada (?).
hmmm....that's interesting. did you hear that from ec grad? or just remember hearing it somewhere but don't know where? well, at least that would be one clinical out of the way!

Yes- it's the Health Assessment & Promotion course at Athabascau. Here is the link:

Also, the patient teaching performance exam can be done locally via video tape, and the other one is now done online. The advisor I talked to made it sound like it is possible to do the BSN program without having to travel for any performance exams if you do these things. I would suggest calling one to verify for yourself, though.

The HAPE can not be taken through Canada anymore. They have made it a 16 online week course or you can go to a test site. Its like $200 cheaper online i think. The TAC and PSPR are videos you send. Then theres the capstone which you go to a test site
Thanks for updating...I noticed the changes a few weeks ago, and posted this so long ago I forgot about it.
