Misdemeanor Traffic Violation

Nurses Criminal

I missed some lights representing a stop sign when driving about 5 years ago. It was considered a misdemeanor. Is this something that the BON looks at?? Has anyone had any experience with this? Will it take longer to process my application?

I am not sure what state you are in, but I am in Ca and I had an infraction for disturbing the peace and YES..the board looked into it. I had to provide certified court/police copies to them about the citation and write a detailed explanation about the citation. They said that it would take 8-12 weeks to process my file and decide on my case. Each case is looked at on a case by case basis. It did not take them that long to process my case. I mailed in my supporting paperwork on March 28th, tested and on April 27, got my passing results on May 11, and they made their decision on May 12. I have my plastic card as of today, 7 days after paying in person. So, the total length of time that they took to process my case was 6 weeks.

Best of luck.

I am in a Midwestern state. It is an annoyance. It is my only ticket or encounter with the law. Never had any problems with background checks or getting a job. I wanted to be honest with them, though.

Hi leinasmom, i am also in CA. i was wondering if you had to report your infraction with your application to take the NCLEX, or did you not report it, and they sent a letter to you saying that they found a infraction on your background check. Also how recent was this infraction? I just got a infraction for urinating in public in june, and i plan to apply to take my test when i graduate with my AS in December. I am so scared.. please help!
