i have a question. my problem has been alcohol. i haven't stole drugs from work (although, when i got my last dui, there was an empty vial of versed in my truck console along with some ointment and ancef: unopened) i am an o.r. nurse, so we carry alot of stuff in our pockets. i didn't get charged with the empty vial. it was apparent that it wasn't stolen and used by me.

my question is, will the bon look at me differently than nurses who have taken drugs from work. i have NEVER used i.v. drugs or stolen them from work.

i self medicate with alcohol. my father was an alcoholic. grew up in that environment.'

i haven't self reported yet. i haven't worked since may 09. this was my 2nd dui and i haven't reported any of my arrests to the bon. i have been a travel nurse for the last 17yrs. my last company was bought out and the new company wants a new background check. i made an excuse of going back to staff so they wouldn't find out. now i am stuck. can't apply anywhere for fear of being reported. i hear it's better to self report.

so, got any advice ya'll? from georgia and not sure what ga's rules are......help!!!
