FL RN trying to get Colorado RN

2 duis and other small charges almost 10 years ago. Florida had no problem with my background but I'm trying to get liscened in Colorado and I'm getting some heat.. They want all court documents and a bunch of letters!! Getting nervous, I DONT want to move back to Florida! Help, advice, anyone?!?!

If you want to work in Colorado, give Colorado copies of everything they are asking for. Like it or not, you have to make the CO BON happy if you want that license.

Also consider seeking the assistance of an attorney to help you, especially if the BON wants you to appear before them to discuss your record.

I am currently under probation with DE BON but living in KY. Im looking to transfer my license here. They require transcripts of your cases but I havent gotten an answer as to whether i need the sentencing order or docket of the case. They to require you to write a letter explaining your charges. It is all very confusing. I am curious how you are choosing to approach the situation as I havent worked as a nurse since 2010 and support a family of 4 on $10/hr so i certainly dont see myself finding money for a lawyer!

I gave them the records and wrote a letter explaining everything. My teacher told me to take ownership and be remorseful in the letter. I'm still waiting to hear back. I was told if they do say no, a lawyer can write a letter appealing it and a letter shouldn't cost too much...good luck! I'm keeping my fingers crossed hard or else I'll have to move back to fl I guess....
