Expungement and Fingerprinting

Nurses Criminal

Published

I am almost finished with my last semester of nursing school,I had 2 charges from 20 years ago that I got expunged. I then ordered my personal fingerprints to see what is on my record. Those two arrests were not on my FBI fingerprint record. So, my question is would I have to disclose those arrests if they are not on my fingerprint report. I am in Nevada as well.

Yes, I would disclose to BON so if they ever do find out your license would not be in jeopardy (they don't like to be lied t)y. So technically they cannot punish you for something that happened 20 years ago and is expunged. I also have an expunged record with a non convicted charge that happened 4 years ago as a juvenile. I did call the BON a week ago and they told me to disclose my arrest and charge when I plan on graduating nursing school in 2018/2019, and that it should not be hold against me from getting my license— stipulations free.

Thank You for your response. May I ask what state you live in? So do you think they have a chance of seeing it even tho its not on my FBI fingerprint report?

Did you get them expunged recently or a long time ago?

Do you know if there is a time table between the processing of your expungement and the process of the courts updating the expungement? Sometimes it is 60-90 days. It might depend on the court or the state.

The reason I asked is because it is possible that if it was recently done that it hasn't been updated yet.

I am not surprised that charges from 20 years ago aren't showing but I have heard that sometimes it will start showing once again after the dismissals. That's California but it might be different in your state.
