Do I have to check yes for convictions when applying for job or clinical rotation?

Nurses Criminal

When a job or clinical rotation asks for convictions I'm hesitant on what to put when they ask about previous "convictions". Technically I got a dui 4 years ago I was young and dumb but now I'm in nursing school and turned a new leaf. I don't have anything else in my cori I checked. But it does say the finding was "not convicted" but it's listed under misdemeanor court appearance. Does anyone know going forward if I have to give this information? Specifically I just put in an application for the VA, they require extensive background check with 10 fingerprints for clinical rotation. I checked yes for the box but never got into detail because I didn't have the dates. I'm worried this will hinder my application. Do I try to contact HR of the VA to see what they think I should do? Thank you

Yes. You absolutely have to check "yes" if you were convicted of driving under the influence. You can anticipate a lot of hiccups due to this history and you may wish to visit the Recovery forum to find out more about those.
