RN wife, young child and pension collecting husband, where to live?

Nurses Job Hunt

Hello- I am currently in an ADN RN program in NJ. I am changing my career from teaching. I have a child in kindergarten and a husband who will retire from teaching and collect a pension when I am done with school. He will look to work full time or hopefully part time if we can afford that as he will be retiring at a relatively young age. He had a NJ CDL B and has experience as a driving instructor and sometime drives a school bus for the school. He is really knowledges able cars.

We are deciding where to move to when I start my new career as a nurse. Good schools for out daughter are essential to us. We are thinking we will leave NJ because it is just too expensive to live here, or possibly south jersey is cheaper but taxes are still insane! To give you an idea, we currently have a 1200 sq foot town house which we payed 280,000 and taxes of 6,500 and maintence fees of 300 per month. We live in Morris County, NJ. Our house will be paid off soon, so we'd like to buy something without a mortgage if possible. All our family is in NJ so we do not want to move too far away, but I think our quality of life will be greatly improved if we get out of NJ. I plan to continue to get a BSN or MSN since I already have a bachelors degree, but hopefully with job that will reimburse me for doing so. My husband loves the beach, and we have thought about Delaware, but the schools seem poor. Doing online searches, Hershey PA seems like a nice spot, but we've never been. We are looking for a 2,500 square foot home, in a nice family neighborhood for our daughter with good schools, hospitals for RN work, and retirement friendly since he will be collecting a pension. Any input is greatly

appreciated! Thank you.
