Thank You Cards

After a nursing job interview, what would be appropriate to write in a thank you card?

Example: "thank you for taking the time to interview me for a RN position. I look forward to hearing from you"

After my interview I sent a formal thank you letter to the NM and CNO that I met with. I thanked them for their time, mentioned a few points from the interview and how I felt I could be a good addition to their facility, and stated how I looked forward to starting my career as a nurse and hoping to do so at a great hospital such as their's. There are a number of examples online for thank you letters. I ended up getting the job, not sure if the letters helped but they definitely didn't hurt.

The thank you card is a nice thought but I would go the extra mile and make it as professional as possible. Good luck!

After all my interviews I sent small thank you cards to the HR person with whom I interviewed and to each NM with whom I interviewed. Short and sweet...and for the NM cards, I always included a short bit on something I really liked about their about their unit--something about how the unit works, is arranged, etc. If nothing else, I'll put something like "I really appreciated the teamwork approach by nurses and all staff on your unit." Just try and stay away from something really menial like "You have such a great vacation policy!" (even if that is true)

I honestly never even thought about thank you cards, notes, or anything of the sort after interviews until browsing these forums. I (obviously in that case) have never sent one. Still, I've been offered the job on every interview I have gone on so far (Including RN jobs). So, in my case, it never has been a factor...but others on here and career advice websites swear by it. Who knows!? Personally, I am not sure that I believe it really helps, but I don't see how it could hurt if you want to send one. Good luck!
