That's great!

Are you planning to take the job if it's offered, despite the rural setting?

Yes! There is no reason I shouldn't. :D

Hey that's great! Sounds like surgical will offer you the position pending references and background check. I'll be leaving Sunday for my interview on Monday and am so nervous!! Did they ask you difficult questions? I'm most nervous about behavioral questions, I don't do well with those... if you can share any info on the interview process or questions, I'd appreciate it!

My best advice is breathe and be confident! That is definitely something that sets you above others. The questions were not difficult at all, I mean, they are very very friendly and they make you feel comfortable. It's just a more formal conversation honestly.

They asked me about my preceptorship mostly. What my favorite clinical was. My strengths and weaknesses. 5 year plan. Whether you would do a 2 year commitment. Tell them about a time in nursing that you had a conflict with a patient or a coworker. Tell them about a time that was most memorable to you so far.

Then I was interviewed by 2 of the nursing staff because they want someone who will fit in with the floor nurses and can get along with them well.

I'm sure you will be great! Cooperstown is beautiful and honestly, even though it is a VERY small town, the hospital is amazing. They have great benefits, good pay for upstate, and they pride themselves on their nurses. The nurses are encouraged to increase their education and develop and be better. I would tell you that if they offer you a job, you should definitely and without a doubt accept. It's different, but the experience you get will probably be worth every ounce of time you spend up there. And who knows? You might love it!

Wow thank you so much!! You made me feel so much better! Since it's a hospital interview, I have been imagining that they would ask tricky and complex questions but I feel a lot less nervous now! I'm excited to visit the area, I hope i'll love it too! I definitely think I would take an offer, I've had interviews for school nurse positions here in nyc but I really want to work in a hospital and I don't know if I'll get another chance, its been almost 6 months since graduation and this is my only hospital interview! So I really hope I do well. Thanks for all your help! I'll let you know how it goes :)

Help!!! I interviewed yesterday for icu fellowship and the interview last 15-20 min. I was interviewed by 2 nurses manager from icu. They were extremely nice, but they only asked me 3 questions, and asked me to ask them questions. I asked them about 7 questions, and I asked for a tour they were really happy that I asked for it. They showed me everything and introduced me to the staff. My concern is that in the end she told me to email her next week and ask about the process. She also told me to put on the email things we discuss do she knows who I'm. Is it a bad sign. She said to email her so she can tell the DON about me. I asked how many openings she said 6 and is interviewing 20 people. I'm really anxious about it. This is a dream opportunity. I'm a new-grad no experience. Thank u!!!

Hi guys! This is my first post on allnurses so I'm new :bag: I had a phone interview with Bassett Medical Center last month and was asked right after the phone interview to come in person. I will be interviewing with Surgical, SCU, and In-patient Psych this Thursday 11/15 and I'm extremely nervous. Each interview is going to last an hour. Can anyone give me an idea of what happens during this hour such as who do I meet and what questions does s/he ask? I am really nervous because I want this job really badly and I don't want to mess it up but this is my first interview since graduation so I'd feel a lot better if I was more prepared. Thanks!

If there are any suggestions, my email is [email protected] :shy:

Hey kcl272!

So, did you get the job? I have a phone interview with Bassett tomorrow... Just wondering how it's going for you and what the process is like getting hired at Bassett. What kind of questions did the recruiter ask?

Anyway, best of luck to you!!!

Thanks in advance.
