Are you planning to take the job if it's offered, despite the rural setting? - Oct 12, '12 by nycnurseyQuote from Helematu7Hey that's great! Sounds like surgical will offer you the position pending references and background check. I'll be leaving Sunday for my interview on Monday and am so nervous!! Did they ask you difficult questions? I'm most nervous about behavioral questions, I don't do well with those... if you can share any info on the interview process or questions, I'd appreciate it!Hey so I just got a call from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES OF INDIVIDUALS PER TOS), and she told me that surgical is very interested in me and she is now going to start the next process which is calling my references and doing a background check and that she would call me early next week. This is amazing! I'm so excited!

- Oct 12, '12 by Helematu7Quote from nycnurseyMy best advice is breathe and be confident! That is definitely something that sets you above others. The questions were not difficult at all, I mean, they are very very friendly and they make you feel comfortable. It's just a more formal conversation honestly.Hey that's great! They asked me about my preceptorship mostly. What my favorite clinical was. My strengths and weaknesses. 5 year plan. Whether you would do a 2 year commitment. Tell them about a time in nursing that you had a conflict with a patient or a coworker. Tell them about a time that was most memorable to you so far.
Then I was interviewed by 2 of the nursing staff because they want someone who will fit in with the floor nurses and can get along with them well.
I'm sure you will be great! Cooperstown is beautiful and honestly, even though it is a VERY small town, the hospital is amazing. They have great benefits, good pay for upstate, and they pride themselves on their nurses. The nurses are encouraged to increase their education and develop and be better. I would tell you that if they offer you a job, you should definitely and without a doubt accept. It's different, but the experience you get will probably be worth every ounce of time you spend up there. And who knows? You might love it! - Oct 12, '12 by nycnurseyWow thank you so much!! You made me feel so much better! Since it's a hospital interview, I have been imagining that they would ask tricky and complex questions but I feel a lot less nervous now! I'm excited to visit the area, I hope i'll love it too! I definitely think I would take an offer, I've had interviews for school nurse positions here in nyc but I really want to work in a hospital and I don't know if I'll get another chance, its been almost 6 months since graduation and this is my only hospital interview! So I really hope I do well. Thanks for all your help! I'll let you know how it goes
