What is nursing like in Canada

Hi,

I'm new here. I currently study a BSc in adult nursing in the UK. I've really wanted to go to Canada and live there at some point, and although I know it'll take some time I just want to know what I need to do to prepare. My lecturers have been telling me that Canada is a lot less restrictive than the UK with their nursing education. I'm not completely sure what they mean by that. I've trawled all through the internet and not really found that many dissimilarities with what nurses can do. Can someone who knows more enlighten me please :)

For one, like the US, Canadian nurses are generalist trained. BScN candidates complete clinical & theory in adult med/surg, geriatrics, pediatrics, psych/mental health, and obstetrics/maternity.

Depending on when you went to school you may have trouble meeting the requirements for the theory/clinical hours for each area.They all have to show up on your transcript.
