I failed to do the required QA from 2010-2013. I didn't appreciate the importance or take it seriously, but have made my first plan for 2014. What should I do about the others years I didn't do it? Do I contact the college or e-mail the QA department. What will happen when they see I didn't do 3 years of mandatory QA? Is my registration with CNO in jeopardy? Thank you.

I'm assuming you'll have to go back to those years and complete those learning plans. That's what i think atleast. I wanna know about this jnfo too.

Thanks for responding. I heard that you get in a lot of trouble (not sure what that entails). I'm a little scared to contact the college, but honesty is better. Accountability right :) Have you made the same mistake I did? I know a couple of nurses who haven't complete them in 8 years!

I've never done it. They don't check. I just surveyed everyone on my shift. They haven't either.

I have always just kept track of any new skills or continuing education I have completed so far in the year, so that if selected I could use that to make my learning plans.

By some crazy coincidence however I knew 8 people either from going to school with, or working with them, who were selected to submit their learning plans last year!

Definitely! A friend of mine didn't do her LP's for 5 years and she just got picked by CNO and now she's trynna go back to those years and pretend like she did them however, she got in trouble because she never had a peer reflection so the CNO QA person had to give her a test and a bunch of things. I wouldn't want to make the same mistake. I'd rather cover my butt then go through all those trouble. Whenever i mention to my coworkers who has been working 10-12 years about the LP they laugh at me because i follow the requirement. In the end, whose gonna be laughing?

I know one person who got contacted. They had to do onbe for that year but didn't have to show any proof of previous years.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences. I think I'll go back and make plans for the years I didn't do. I know I cant add them to the actual QA LP, but I'll have then available if contacted.
