Anybody who will be taking the CRNE on October 5, 2011, please post your comments and suggestions here like making a study group, sharing notes, meeting at the library or anything that will help the examinees pass the examination. Thanks!

Even I took the crne this oct. And i feel so tensed that whenever I awake at night, I jus think questions that were on the exam. Some of the questions were so tricky that u cannot figure out from 2 options. I am jus praying to god for all those who are anxious for their results.

Also, does someone know that some questions on the exam are high score or low score questions or all count for the same mark?

Hoping for the best........................

How is the exam scored? For multiple choice questions there is only one correct response for each question. There may be responses that are similar or contain partially correct responses, but there will only be one absolutely correct response and each correct response is given one mark. The multiple choice section is marked by computer scan. The short answer questions have three parts. Scoring is performed by a team of content experts based on the presence of correct responses matching those on the scorer's list of acceptable responses. Marks are awarded on a scale from 0-3; part marks are possible for partially correct responses. However, multiple choice and short answer questions are weighted identically so in order to receive a mark for a short answer question, all responses must be correct. The two parts are scored separately; the total number of points achieved on the short answer questions are added up then divided by 3 to obtain the aggregate score for that section. The two sections are then added together to obtain the final mark.

What's a passing mark on the CRNE? The standard passing score ranges from 59-68%. BUT the standard passing score is determined by the level of difficulty of the exam as established by the CRNE examination committee. Each exam is set by the committee using a pool of thousands of stock questions created by nursing educators across the country. The pool of questions is constantly changing, as is the composition of the exam. No two exams are ever more than superficially similar. The actual mark achieved only matters as it compares to the standard set for that specific exam. Results are reported to the candidate as either "pass" or "fail". Occasionally the CNA will provide a score to the failing candidate in an effort to assist with succeeding on subsequent attempts but generally speaking you will not receive a score.

Anxiously waiting for the results, although it will still be a month or more of trying to keep myself busy. I hope it will come sooner though and I don't understand why in this day and age, you have to wait for a couple of weeks before getting it. It's like prolonging your agony.

nothing else you can do guys but try to forget and chill while waiting. It's a mental torture if you keep thinking about it. You've done your part!

All the best!

Anyone knows total how many students wrote oct 2011 exam.

1400 if I am not mistaken......Wishing everyone the best of LUCK,....I know I need it..:S

Not to sure if any of you are aware of this, but I had spoken to a nurse today who informed me she wrote the RN for the 2nd time this oct.5th and she also told me that she knew weeks befor the rest of her friends that she had failed. She explained to me that she got a letter sent to her address like 3 weeks before the results came back....not to sure if anyone else knew this information, but if any of us has fail...i guess we will soon here about it...anyways any additional information on this would be awesome!!!!...

That's not true about knowing that early if you fail, those who find out they fail get a registered letter like a day or two before everyone else, probably the first week of November, my friend failed last Oct., he got his results the first week of November. :) ..that's in Nova Scotia btw

Hello Everyone,

I took the CRNE last Oct. 5th for the second time. I found it really difficult. It was as hard as the June 2011 exam. I am hoping for the best. I was pretty annoyed that the exam in Toronto was held at the International Centre because it is close to the airport and thus you can hear the airplanes go by. I almost ran of time because of poor time management. I must have spent over 2 mins on the questions that confused me (which was most of them).

I am hoping, praying, wishing that we all pass!!!

In Toronto, we were told there was 1400 of us. I don't know how many in total nationally.

That is not true knowing early if you failed. This is my second time writing and I received my fail mark at the same time as students in my class received their pass mark. The mailing of the marks just depends on when you nursing association mails them out and how fast the postal system is.

I am nervously waiting my mark and I constantly am stressing about it. Hopefully in a few weeks this will all be over. I wish everyone good luck!
