Accelerated nursing program in new York state and returning to Ontario

Rejected for the accelerated nursing program at McMaster and am considering the one year accelerated BSc in Nursing degree from Niagara University or University of Buffalo. Not sure how difficult it would be to return to my place of residence in Ontario. What are the steps and approximately how long after graduation could I get licensed. I contacted the Ontario college of nurses and they said they will not pre approve any programs, they will only assess them upon completion. Are there any Ontario residents that have an American accelerated nursing degree and got licensed in Ontario?

I hope someone will answer this because I am also interested in attending Niagara U. and getting dual licensed in Canada and the U.S..

I completed the accelerated BSc in Nursing in Niagara University. I graduated in 2014. I'm in a process of registering with CNO and believe me it is a long process.

Here are my timeline:

Dec 2014. Applied to NNAS

January 12, 2015. NNAS received all documents required.

April 22, 2015. Advisory report issued (Comparable)

April 27, 2015 Applied to CNO

April 30, 2015. Received letter from CNO asking me for transcripts from previous Bachelor Degree.

June 28, 2015. CNO received transcripts from prior Bachelor.

Since then I am still waiting. Call them periodically and all they say is that my application is under review. I am a Canadian resident, however if your education is from out of the country they consider you as an IEN. If anyone has a better experience please share as it is very hard to find information with regard to this topic.

@bombshell do you know what the CNO is looking for in your previous degree transcripts? are they checking to ensure you had the prerequisites for the accelerated program?
