You know you're a nurse if...
You've been telling stories in a restaurant and had someone at another table throw up.

Your contacts get dry and you use a NS flush syringe to lubricate them.

I'm sure this one has been said MANY times already, but you look at someone's hands and think 'Wow - how easy would it be to put an IV in THOSE veins?!?'.
Or this one: I just saw a woman's 'ID' on a dating site, and without revealing exactly what it was, my first thought was 'Ritalin' instead of her actual profile name. It was similar, and with this stuff always at the back of my mind...

You use the phrase "as evidenced by" in everyday social media posts/conversation without realizing it.

You talk to non medical people using nursing terms, and they give you a puzzled look.

You get super excited because your patient FINALLY gave you the urine specimen that was ordered 3 hours ago!

You know you're a nurse when your spouse doesn't get any sleep because you want to show him/her all of the "gross" medical-related posts on Instagram and Figure1 before bed.

I call my report sheet my "brain". I have been known to be seen running all over the building lookin for my "brain" which is where I put my patients vital signs on!!
I thought everybody called it that??
You think the tune to "Tresiba ready!" is pretty catchy.
You've had all kinds of drinks/snacks out of 4-oz. translucent plastic cups. Sometimes it's something you had, sometimes it's something a co-worker handed you.
You talk about bodily functions (sometimes even your own) and other usually-off-topic topics with fellow nurses.

You wont share food with a friend until youve asked them about their allergies and medical hx.
(I actually do this before i share my peanut m&m's with anyone. Didnt think of it as a NURSE THING til someone pointed it out as such...its just good common sense right? )

You go to breakfast with other nurses after your shift and the host/hostess puts the group in a corner away from other patrons. They know what the conversations will be like.
