when you get ads in your phone or utility bill, include them with the payment. let them throw it away.

when you get those pre approved letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and junk like that, most of them come with postage paid return envelopes, right? well, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little envelopes!

send an ad for your local dry cleaner to american express.

or a pizza coupon to citibank. (i especially liked this!) if you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them their application back!

if you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn't on anything you send them.

you can send it back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing!

eventually, the banks and credit card companies will begin getting all their junk back in the mail.

let's let them know what it's like to get junk mail, and best of all

they're paying for it! twice!

let's help keep our postal service busy since they say e-mail is cutting into their business, and that's why they need to increase postage again!

send this to a friend or two or three...or fifty....

I have actually sent junk mail back!!! Does that make me a bad person? I took the free pen out of the envelope but as I didn't want to waste money joining their club, I put all the rubbish back in the return envelope with a note saying thanks for the pen. I would have loved to see their face when they opened it;) :):eek:

I used to do that. It started with my local department store bill - they started putting in adverts for the perfumes they wanted to sell. It spread pretty fast. Pretty soon, it was hard to find the *bill* part of the shipment each month. I did just what people were saying, I put everything back into the envelope with the check and the "send this part back" part.

Now I pay my bills online. So I get banner ads and popup ads, and all that sort of thing instead. I wish there was a way to send *that* back!

I love this!!! I spent some time this morning going through my paper recycling to get out my credit card apps. I sat at my table giggling like a fool as I sent them all of their junk back. I am going to encourage all my friends to do this.

Normaly I would send junk mail back, but today this thread motivated to do something far worse:

I live in student housing so we are targeted by lots of fats food places posting flyers through our door, however today I saw soem of the delivery folks park out side my house, and not only did they start leafleting (is that a word?) the whole street. They put one unde the windcreen wipers of MY CAR. :(So......

I went out side with all the flyers I could find in the house, took the one off my car and placed them all under his windscreen blades.

Now my only problem is I don't speak Greek I wish I had I would havee loved to know what he was saying about me, because he was not a happy chappy.

I think my evil half has taken over, maybe the other side will gain control after my exam, but until then, junk mailers beware;)

I sent the credit card app back with an ad for stool softeners, and sent the "Get a loan with a small interest rate" people the ads for the septic tank cleaner........... And I sent Globe Life the ads for Viagra I keep getting.....

dammit, I have enough problems with my man without adding Viagra to the mix......................

And the "Buy one get one free" "Rose of Sharon" ad got the ad for the compost maker.

Hee hee.....I am having toooooo much fun now................

I think the mailman is going to hate me worse than he does. I get all the gardening mags and catalogues I can possible order, and they all come in the same week......dozens of them..............Too bad. If he would do more than grunt at me, or stop giving me the whole city's mail when we have lived here for 6 YEARS and he knows who lives here..................................I might reconsider.....

I am actually Looking forward to receiving junk mail now....

Have sent the pre-paid envelopes back empty before, but am looking forward to mix-matching them now with all the neat ideas I've read here.

Especially when I know the companies have to PAY for all the post-paid mail they receive..... Look out junk mail.............
