Obtain NRP during last semester??

Hello all!

I am graduating May 2015 and am thinking about obtaining my NRP before graduation. I know most places will give you the course upon hire, but I am wondering if going ahead and getting it will help me get a job! I really want to go straight into Labor and Delivery somewhere in the Dallas area.

Thoughts?

It will probably be very difficult to find a course that is open to 'outsiders'... people who are not employed in a setting that requires this certification. These courses are normally sponsored by one or more organizations - for their employees only.
