I was a LPN for 8 years in a LTC setting, and now a new ADN RN, I am looking for jobs, but don't if I am doing what is right to be really marketable.

About to apply for

ohio university online RN to BSN

get my ACLS training trough American heart, any suggestions

Hi, I'm a new grad too. It sounds like you are doing the right thing. You are getting certifications and you have experience working in a hospital which is a major plus for you. The only other thing I can suggest is apply to the hospitals of your choice EVERY DAY. It took me a while, but after a year of applying to jobs on a consistent basis I eventually got interviews and was offered a job. Best of luck to you!

In addition to the certs we talked about in your other thread, joining organizations (AWHONN, etc, since you want to get into L&D) will give you some connections and resources to help you find work, and it'll show your interest in that area.

Have you talked to your L&D instructors? One of mine called me about that job that I had the informational interview for yesterday, and she's writing me a letter of recommendation tailored to what they want to see. Ask them for guidance. They can be good resources.
