MSN financial question

Just wondering if anyone knows of any programs that offer repayment of loans for anyone wanting to go into nursing education. Looking for alternative ways to finance my MSN. I know this type of aid is available to those pursuing a career in education. Thanks for your input.

It depends on your state. In NC, the State Education Assistance Authority is offering a limited number of generous fellowships for nurse educators enrolled in state-approved MSN-Nurse Educator concentrations. I don't know offhand what is available in Illinois. I would approach the nursing department faculty chair or financial aid office in your university about what scholarships are available. There are usually many scholarships and loans available, and most of these are well known by the faculty. When you contact your school of nursing, also inquire out about the elusive Nurse Reinvestment Act.

check with the secretary of the graduate program. Ours automatically reminds us to apply every semester. I have received Ralston scholarships and a state one.

Thanks so much for all your posts. Trauma I live in a small town near Beardstown. My current employer is paying for my ADN but that's the only tuition assistance they offer right know. What hospital do you work for? I'll keep that in mind when I start searching using the great suggestions from all of you.

I work at the largest hospital in Peoria and their tuition reimbursement is very good. ALso - they have a college of nursing and if you work at the hospital - your tuition is waived.

The US Public Health Service and the VA offer generous support (tuition/expenses paid, plus a stipend for living expenses) if you agree to work for them for a few years after you graduate. They offer this for specific clinical specialties only, though. Many of my classmates in grad school were using that option.

Thanks again for all your input. I appreciate the suggestions. Thanks for all your info Trauma. My company has a 2 year employment for their scholarship, just wondering how long your hospital requires and what their prn options are?
