YeeHaw! Great new job

Nurses Career Support

Published

Hi everyone. I've been posting for a little while now, and to be honest, when I first found this board I was very disillusioned with nursing. I was actually thinking seriously about leaving nursing entirely. Then I began to read some of your great posts and through all of your enthusiasm and honesty, remembered why I wanted to be a nurse in the first place. I have been searching for the last several months for a position that made me want to go back to work, and today I think I found it. I had the greatest interview today in the entire ten years I have been a nurse. I interviewed with a great new orthopedic surgeon who is looking for an office nurse. We hit it off, both of us have the same feelings about patient care and the way we'd like to see an office run. The job has great hours and benefits too! I am so excited! I haven't "officially" got the position yet, but the Doc pretty much told me he planned to hire me, but had to interview one more candidate since the interviews were set up at the Hospital where he has privileges. I just want to say Thank you all for sharing your stories (the good and the bad). You all made me hang in there when I was ready to quit, and I am sooo glad I did. :balloons: THANK YOU!!!

Hey congratulations on the new job! Sounds great! I was just curious though how you found the job? Did you look in the newspaper or on the internet or did you know someone? It seems like all you can find are jobs working in a hospital. I was just wondering because I am interested in working at a doctor's office setting sometime in the future.

Actually, I didn't even know about this position. I had submitted my resume to the hospital a while back. They forwarded my resume to this Doctor because they recruited him and are helping him to start his office up. I feel terribly lucky for things to happen that way. I have answered several ads lately for other offices without much luck. I hate to say it but I just "lucked up" on this job. :imbar Good Luck on your Job Search.
