Hi everyone,

So glad I found you all ( I'm a total newbie ). Here's my dilema, I'm a wanna be nurse (since I was 18) never went for it but recently completed my Bachelors in Org Mgmt 2004. Can't shake this heartfelt desire to go for my lifelong dream , (everyone who knows me say I'd be a great one, including my CNA instructor). Recently passed a CNA class with a "B" and state testing this month. Have some medical admin experience but want clinical sooo bad, Looking into Excelsior-- what are my chances-- where should I start since I'm not so young and Nursing is so competitive ??

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Hi and welcome to the site

Good luck on your journey and I don't think you are too old. Moved to Nurse career advice

:welcome:

Glad to have you here - I think you could still do it! :) Good luck.

Specializes in Med-Surg, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiac.

Look into your local schools and talk to them.

You might consider getting an LPN first, which is usually a little less competetive to get into. Then you can get your RN after that.

I think Excelsior is for people who are already an LPN.
