Hi Everyone,

I am in a midst of a personal struggle. I've been in nursing for 12 years....3 years as an ER RN, then 9 years working solely in cardiology. I have worked PT as an NP since my children were born (they are 2yo and 4yo, respectively) and my husband has always been supportive of whatever I have wanted to do...now that they are older i can see the benefits of being a SAHM parent, but I also need to balance this with my need for intellectual stimulation. Unfortunately, the practice I currently work for will not allow me to work less and stay in my current position (I do a combo of inpatient/outpatient mgmt).

I'm looking for a creative means of embracing my NP/RN experiences, but allow me to be home with my children during the week. I would be open to consulting/online teaching, but I would not go back to being a staff nurse (too many years away in a different role).

Any suggestions? Thank you so much! C

How about tutoring nursing students in your home? I have many friends who chose the SAHM route, none have regrets!

What about teaching or doing employment physicals a couple of days a week?
