Nurses Career Support

Hi all! I have been a nurse for 3 years and am currently up for a position in a pediatrician's office. Now, obviously the money isn't fabulous, but I think the job will be great, however I don't see myself staying there forever... What I'm wondering from you guys is if there is any chance of moving to pediatric floor nursing from this job, experience wise. The job market in my area is very tight and hospital jobs are hard to come by, and if you do find them, they are going to the nurses with the most experience.

From what I have seen, it is not easy to move back into acute care after working in ambulatory care for any length of time. If you accept the office job, I would advise you to 'keep the door open' by continuing to work PRN in a hospital. When you're ready to move back into acute care, you will have the "current" or "recent" experience that those jobs require.
