How early is too early to apply?!

I graduate in May 2008. I just applied for jobs that were posted for new RNs specifically starting in May 2008. The woman I spoke with a few weeks ago said to apply as soon as I saw the positions open. I feel like it is way too early though! How soon ahead of time do they hire new RNs? Any input much appreciated.

I applied for and got hired in February and started in June.

I honestly think now is way too early for May 2008 jobs, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have your application in, but I'd be surprised if they hired you now. But it might be that particular facilities policy to do that, if that is what you're told.
