There are multiple routes leading to RN licensure (Diploma, ADN, BSN & even entry-level MSN). You first need to look at all the options in your location. Each program will have it's own specific requirements that are usually found on their web site. If your previous degree was from a regionally accredited school, you may have completed some courses that can be applied toward a nursing degree. If so, this may save you some time and money.

In general, if everything goes well, it usually takes about 3 years to complete a Diploma or ADN program (including general education courses) & at least 4 1/2 years to complete a BSN program. Best of luck on your nursing education journey.
