Has anyone been able to get LVN/RN with a felony charge

I suppose it might depend on the type of felony, but I seriously doubt it.

This varies from state to state. It will also depend on the type of felony and when the felony occurred. Additionally, some clinical rotation sites may have policies restricting individuals with criminal histories.

A felony charge or a felony conviction?

I live in NYS. My charge was from 2004. The case was closed in February 2006. I received my LPN in 2011. My charge was Grand theft. I was not convicted because I received a withhold of adjudication without a conviction if I served my time which was probation and restitution. I had to have 2 or 3 references and I had to write a letter to the Board of Nursing explaining what happened and how I had changed/corrected my mistake. It does depend on the type of charge and how long since the charge. Give your nursing board a call and see what their process is. It cannot hurt to get a feel for their process. Also, I had no trouble with the facilities that I did my clinicals with. Good luck. We all make mistakes in life. Some bigger than others. It does not define who we are as long as we've changed. It's a shame that some people judge so harshly. Best wishes.
