Dress Code: scrubs or business casual for Psych ER

Hello! Has anyone worked as a psych nurse in the ER?

I've worked in inpatient and outpatient psych settings, and the dress has always been business casual.

I have never worked in ER psych, and packing for a travel nurse assignment. Trying to decide if I need to bring scrubs.

Thanks for any input!

I work in psych ed. I can wear either scrubs or business casual. Go with what you feel is comfortable to you. I personally wear my scrubs, but that's just me. Many coworkers wear business casual. Personal choice at least in my hospital.

This is something you should probably clarify with the facility you're traveling to.

I could wear scrubs or casual including jeans. I did both: scrub top and jeans.

This. It doesn't matter what I or anyone else where to our job. What matters is what YOUR facility wants you to wear to your job. Contact them and ask.

if they don't provide a dress code, IMO wear scrubs on day 1 and see for yourself how everyone is dressed.

The problem was, I was packing and the facility was not getting back to me in time with specifics before I got on the plane. They still keep sending me vague dress code standards, but not telling me what is specific to my unit.

Based on everyone's input, I packed both, and if they don't get back to me before day one, blue scrubs seem to be a safe bet.

Thank you, everyone!
