BSN or Business degree best for nursing management?

I have an ASN and have been a RN for 10 years. I'm starting to think I might like to eventually work into management. Is more education necessary? I think it probably will be, but will a BSN really prepare me? Or would it be more beneficial to go for a Business Management or Healthcare Administration degree?

Any advice would be welcome!

Thank you!

Depending on where you live ASNs can advance to management.

If you don't already have a degree, go for the BSN, while not necessary gearred towards adminsitration it is the preferred degree of management and other positions. If you get a business degree, you might limit yourself. After that some places encourage an MSN with a focus on Leadership/Health Care Adminsitration.

Good luck.

Depends on what kind of management you're interested in, I would think. Maybe you could target a few managers/administrators at a local facility and ask for an informational interview to pick their brains about it.
