I hope all my fellow Catholics, and other Christians who observe Lent, find this season of renewal fruitful and spiritually refreshing.

Let's also remember to pray for our brothers and sisters facing martyrdom, being beheaded and burned alive everyday, and all victims of persecution and injustice.

And now a little humor:

Amen to that.

I also love the humor.

What are you giving up for lent?

Me, I am starting a diet/exercise regiment, giving up stagnation...

I'm in school full time and working full time while also trying to be a wife and raise five kids, one of whom is a senior and preparing for college herself. I'm not giving up anything! ;)

I am going to pray a good audio rosary I found daily and try to get back to going to Eucharistic adoration regularly. I used to go weekly and it was good for me.

I see, you are giving up sleep.

5 kids.... God bless you.

Me and my wife go every week. We have a great pastor, I thought he was 10+ years younger than me, but he is 10+ older.

I am also going to do a post on my blog a saying I saw yesterday: "Don't ask God to make your life easier, ask Him to make you stronger."

I have missed Ash Wednesday the last two years :( ever since becoming a LCMS Lutheran my church is about an hour drive away lol.

Good Lord, what's left to give up? Sounds like every day is Lent. Hats off to you.
