May I then propose June 1 for non-certified, middle-aged maternal-child RNs currently unemployed but volunteering in the school and parish settings?

I would suggest chocolate as an appropriate celebratory measure.

You're right. This is ridiculous.

Oh gosh . . I completely forgot middle-aged non-certified hospice RN, formerly rural ER/L&D, currently working very very part-time while returning to get a BSN and not using her parish nurse training.

Oh . . I want a lanyard with the hospital logo . . . . or a cup holder that says "Hospice RN's Rule" . . .. . . or a pen that lights up . . . . or a t-shirt . . . or travel coffee mug . . ..

Recognition days are traditionally bandaids. They're crumbs that do little to recognize and take steps towards solving much deeper problems of no bread.

I'd rather have adequate staffing every day than a hallmark card and flowers on recognition day.

Not bitter, tangy.

You could, but it conflicts with "blind, left handed, dentists without tonsils" day.

Smirk,

Eh...why not.

Whatever we can do to get them to acknowledge the functions of nursing.

It's no less silly as the popular "Daisy Awards" program or the "Kudos" option in this forum.
