TPAPN, a UDS on Christmas?

So I have really read a lot on this forum..I am quite the stalker! Anyway, I just began TPAPN a few weeks ago and spoke with my CM yesterday. She said not to be surprised if I am selected to test on Christmas, or other holidays. This totally stresses me out as where in the world is open on Christmas..? I could definitely see other holidays where not everything is closed. Is she just trying to scare me straight? I am not hiding anything and am working my program to maintain sobriety, but my stress is building with all the horror stories. She also talked about dilute urine and how I would be called to test more if this happened, and if it happened multiple times she would refer me to the BON. I am officially paranoid. :wideyed:

In my state, I have NEVER been tested on Christmas or any other major holiday. (Or on a weekend for that matter). Anyone I have ever talked to about it has said the same thing. I still have to call and check in, but I don't think I would ever be selected.

Over 2 yrs in tpapn. Second time around. Never tested on wknd or holiday. Ive had one dilute urine. Still moving forward.

Personally I think she's trying to scare you so you won't be tempted to drink or use on Christmas. But the odds are very low that you'd be tested on Christmas Day. If you are, I think you could go to a CareNow with your regular COC form that you normally take to Quest and get tested there. I know people who've used CareNow on Saturdays or on days where they couldn't test until later in the day past the time when Quest was closed. I'd probably call the number that is on the RecoveryTrek website if you get selected to test Christmas Day, to get lab locations, but if you don't get an answer, then go to a Care Now.

In the six plus years I was monitored, I was told to call in 365 days a year even though my testing location was not open on weekends or holidays. There was no alternate location given and although I did call every day (approx 2281 times, but who's counting, lol), my number only came up during the regular work week (M-F).

I had a small rural hospital added to be an acceptable testing site it cost like $15.00/more per test.....but was very smart....no matter what day, holiday or time the uds could be done.....now the reason it was so relatively easy to have this rural hosp added as testing site, was it was a one our drive, one way to nearest testing site....... It worked for me......by the way, I was never selected to test on a Sunday, or holiday....but sometimes frequent day after a holiday....

I was frequently selected to test after holidays--even Labor Day, and Memorial Day. We didn't have to check in on the actual holiday, though. I think the idea is to catch people drinking or drugging on the holidays.

I am in Texas, I have recently been selected to test twice on weekends (both times on Saturday, once each in Nov and Dec). I had to call in and they gave me a location to go test at. This is a fairly recent change, I'm told. I know of a couple other nurses on TPAPN who have also been picked on the weekend. So I would not be surprised if they pick me on a holiday.

I have been in the program for two years and was never tested on a weekend until last month.
